What About the Science?

You often see many publications listed on the websites of the local men's clinic websites. These publications are about true shockwaves and not acoustic waves. The only radio or TV quoted study about radial shockwaves is the "Cambridge Study". This study is very small (22 patients) industry paid for(conflict of interest), and contains no sham treated or control group . There is no long term follow up presented and this is published in a non "peer" reviewed on line journal. Although this You Tube Video is fairly long it covers many of these points.

How Many Treatments Does It Take?

Now that you know the truth about True Shockwave Therapy, you want to know how may treatments it requires for you to receive a successful result. This is an area of current research. In the original studies patients all received 4 treatments. In subsequent studies they received 6 or 12, or even more treatments. At this time it appears as if the device is a "point focused" device 12 treatments may be best. Linear focused machines have greater efficiency and may require only 4 or 6 treatments.
